Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s Earth Month Contest

Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation created a contest that incorporates their key initiatives: ending litter, reducing waste, promoting recycling, and beautifying communities.

How to participate:
1) Gather materials from your house or yard that often become litter if not disposed of properly—soda cans, glass bottles, aluminum cans, straws, bottle caps, cardboard, hubcaps, tires, etc. 2) Browse the internet for inspiration, or use your own imagination, to create an upcycled piece of art for your yard, balcony, or windowsill.
3) Post a photo of your creation online, tagging @keepgeorgiabeautifulfoundation and #reconsiderlitter. Feel free to include yourself in the photo as well. 4) Enjoy the increased beauty of your surroundings!

PRIZE! During the first week in May, winners will be chosen in three categories: adult, grades 6-12, and K-5. The prize? A $50 gift certificate (to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day) to a local restaurant or business of your choice. So let’s get crafting, Georgia…ready, set, GO!
