Letter from our Executive Director, March 31, 2020

EarthShare Georgia Friends and Supporters,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe during these challenging times. I am writing to let you know that the EarthShare Georgia team is committed to continuing to raise environmental awareness and promoting our member groups while we rely on virtual communications to stay connected.

We’d like to hear from you on ways we can support your work and your ideas, especially as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day next month! Over the next few months, we will offer ideas and resources on ways you can support our member groups and help conserve and protect our environment.

Your support is critical during this landmark 50th anniversary of Earth Month. Here is an easy way to give where you can choose from a variety of options to support our member groups as well as EarthShare Georgia’s mission. Please keep in mind that non-profits, like many businesses, are feeling the effects of the social gathering restrictions on their operating budgets as many depend on the income from ongoing events and programs to sustain their work.

Support our member groups & EarthShare Georgia’s mission.

On the bright side, people are getting outside more, enjoying parks and trails and discovering new places on foot. This means fewer cars on the road, reducing CO2 emissions and, in some areas of the world, such as Italy and China, reports of cleaner air and waters offer a sign of hope.

Here are some ways you can get involved now and in the coming months:

  1. Update your calendar with new dates for our annual Earth Day Events (We’re celebrating Earth Day Every Day!)
  2. Follow @earthsharega on social media for environmental news and tips from our member groups
  3. Utilize our toolkit (coming soon) to celebrate Earth Month
  4. Participate in the Earth Day Online Eco-Auction in May featuring a variety of items and experiences to enjoy our environment.

Again thank you for your continued support and commitment as we navigate these challenging times. We hope you will get outside and enjoy the beautiful spring.

All the best,
