Thank you for your support – FY17 Accomplishments

FY17 Accomplishment Highlights:

  1. 5,225 Donors and Potential Donors Engaged
    EarthShare of Georgia directly engaged with nearly 5,225 people at more than 60 campaign events in the public and private sectors. Nearly 20 EarthShare of Georgia’s local member groups participated in campaign events, providing opportunities to speak directly with donors from a broad variety of sectors. EarthShare of Georgia funds more than 60 trusted non-profit member groups working locally, nationally and internationally on air, land and water issues that affect our health and well-being and the sustainability of our planet.
  2. Second Annual Corporate Sustainability Forum
    EarthShare of Georgia held the second annual Corporate Forum in partnership with Green Chamber of the South. This event emphasized integrating employee engagement with corporate sustainability goals while building diversity and strengthening the economy.
  3. Second Annual Fall Volunteer Day
    EarthShare of Georgia partnered with Park Pride, The Conservation Fund and the English Avenue community to improve Mattie Freeland Park in West Atlanta for the Fall Volunteer Day.
  4. Stakeholder Meeting
    EarthShare of Georgia business partner, Interface, hosted a regional stakeholder meeting with EarthShare of Georgia in LaGrange. Fifteen attendees from potential business partners were introduced to ways to incorporate sustainability into their work and the benefits of an EarthShare of Georgia partnership to engage employees in the variety of ways to protect and conserve our environment.
  5. The 2017 Earth Day Water Symposium and Career Expo
    EarthShare of Georgia’s annual Earth Day event was held at Emory University and was attended by nearly 200 people, including nearly 50 students from area colleges and universities.
  6. The 2017 Corporate Green Day Challenge
    The Corporate Green Day Challenge brought together hundreds of employees and included a diverse array of outdoor projects hosted by EarthShare of Georgia member groups at sites throughout Georgia.
    Corporate volunteer teams included Bank of America, The Coca-Cola Company, Cox Enterprises, Delta Air Lines, Hannah Solar, Kaiser Permanente, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Newell Brands and SCANA Energy.
  7. Grant from the Ray C. Anderson Foundation – Speaker Series
    EarthShare of Georgia received a $10,000 grant from the Ray C. Anderson Foundation to support a sustainability speaker series which will begin in fall 2017. The series will feature presentations by recently retired sustainability heroes and heroines on their chosen career paths, along with networking opportunities for rising sustainability leaders and EarthShare of Georgia business partners and member groups.
