Message from the Executive Director
As we start the New Year, EarthShare of Georgia welcomes Partnership for Southern Equity to share our office suite at 100 Peachtree. Partnership for Southern Equity is a non-profit organization that addresses equity issues in the broader community, including the economy, transportation and the environment. We look forward to a great partnership.
Being efficient and cost-effective in our operations is always important to EarthShare of Georgia. With traditional workplace environments changing, there are many options for working remotely that are available to us and which help to reduce our carbon footprint. The EarthShare of Georgia team is frequently at meetings or making presentations to the business community, which expand our outreach efforts in raising environmental awareness among Georgia’s citizens. Sharing office space allows us to help save dollars that need to be used instead for growing funds for both EarthShare of Georgia’s member groups and to support our capacity to grow the organization.
The focus areas of our new strategic plan are revenue, awareness, stakeholders and operations. In 2016, we are planning to streamline our online giving platform to support the growing need of donors to give in other ways besides traditional payroll giving. Workplace-giving campaigns with more than 50 employers continue to thrive, but accommodating those who work remotely as well as other individuals who simply want an easy way to make tax-deductible donations to vetted environmental non-profits will be a major goal. As a reminder, EarthShare of Georgia offers an easy online giving platform, but we will soon provide a drop-down menu of giving choices, providing more information on our individual member groups, to make choosing how to give an easier process.
Other plans for this year include offering more opportunities for engaging conversations about environmental and conservation issues at our annual Earth Day events, continuing to add new workplace-giving and marketing partners, and expanding as well as diversifying our base of stakeholders.
Thank you for all you do to support EarthShare of Georgia throughout the year. Please contact us for ways to get involved, including volunteering for this year’s Earth Day events , signing your company up as a corporate sustainer, or joining our Friends’ group.
Best wishes for a great 2016!
